The World Series of Pop Culture tournament, which will be taped to air on VH1 Summer 2007, will take place March 22nd - 24th in NYC. In each city, Casting Calls will be held on Friday & Saturday. Select teams will be called back by Producers to play in a Regional Qualifying Game on Sunday. Callbacks to play in Sunday's Regional Qualifier Game will come on Saturday night. Your team MUST be available for the entire weekend in your selected city to be considered. The team that wins the Regional Qualifier Game in each city AUTOMATICALLY advances to The World Series of Pop Culture tournament being held in NYC in March, 2007.The remaining teams who were chosen to participate in the Regional Qualifier Games held in each city will be put into a pool from which the Producers may select up to an additional ten (10) teams to participate in the Tournament at the sole discretion of the Producers. Can’t make it to a Regional Qualifier? You have another opportunity to qualify for the show INDIVIDUALLY! One team will be cast online here at www.vh1.com. You may attempt to qualify for the show by taking VH1’s very own “Pop Culture IQ Test” which will take place in mid-February. Three of the online test takers will be selected by the Producers to join forces and become the final “wildcard” team in the tournament to be held in March. Keep checking back for more detail.

SPACE STATION SEVEN PRODUCTIONS is seeking a storyboard artist for upcoming short film TAQUERIA de MUERTE. Job duties include 2 meetings with the director, cinematographer and/or production designer to go over script, sketch out rough panels for the shots, working with director to get the right feel, angle, flow etc. The storyboard artist will then make fully rendered storyboards from the rough sketches. A second meeting with the team will fine tune the storyboards and artist will make additions/correction bring them back. Any further storyboarding will be done at a newly negotiated fee. Knowledge of storyboarding and/or comic penciling, different film genres, particularly spaghetti westerns is a plus. Please have samples of art work and resume ready. 2007 WIF Foundation Film Finishing Fund--Call for Submissions! From December 1, 2006-February 9, 2007, the Women In Film Foundation is accepting submissions for its 2007 Film Finishing Fund. Now in its 22nd year, the Fund provides completion monies and in-kind post grants for narrative, documentary, animated, experimental, and educational works by filmmakers who demonstrate advanced and innovative skills; and whose work relates to the goals of Women In Film. Over the years, the Fund has provided more than $1.6 million in cash and in-kind services. MIDDLE NAME PICTURES is holding auditions for male and female roles for the indie feature film Bob and Nick. DOLPH LUNGREN, the Swedish actor best known for karate and boxing movies, including Rocky IV is opening a production office in Dallas. Lundgren is in Dallas scouting possible locations with the Dallas Film Commission director Janis Burklund for the film Missionary Man. Lungren wrote the screenplay and will also produce and direct the film.
